Fa vs Parker Fight

Boxing: Junior Fa bolstered by world-class team for Joseph Parker clash

Auckland’s City Kickboxing gym has its sights set on another milestone victory in the coming weeks, in the form of heavyweight boxer Junior Fa.

For three years, Fa’s been a part of the camp that’s produced a plethora of UFC talent – including middleweight champion Israel Adesanya – and says he owes his new heights to their culture and team-first mentality.

With his December 12 date with Joseph Parker fast approaching,  Fa has been ramping up preparations for the fight of his life, recognizing it could be potentially his last chance for a shot at the big time.

“This is a huge opportunity for me,” Fa tells Newshub.

“Fighting Joseph Parker brings with it a lot of rewards, if I win.

“So I just have to make sure I train as hard as I can because an opportunity like this won’t present itself twice, so I will grab this with both hands.”

Despite the pressure, Fa knows he has the right men in his corner in coaches Doug Viney and Eugene Bareman, who both know what it takes to win a fight of this magnitude.

“Walking to the ring, I’ll have 100 percent trust in my corner and we’re praying for a good outcome,” he says.

“It means a lot and there’s a lot of trust there… I really trust these guys.
